Poha Berry Lanterns (by Rosa Say)
An early Christmas gift!
No doubt about it, my forte as a gardener is unintentional neglect! Seems that’s how the best things happen for my humble yard patches… Came back from a trip to find that my poha berry plants purchased this past summer are blooming for the first time!I have very fond childhood memories of these in my grandmother’s Kula Maui garden, and though I can find bottles of jam here it’s been decades since I’ve seen them growing. I’d bought the plants at a summertime Farmer’s Market and have hovered about them hopefully ever since.
