I love this Cube Grenade from @gapingvoid ~ Art by Hugh MacLeod
His caption refers to personal, loving ones, however I think this is true of all kinds of relationships. It even relates to our connection with certain opinions, ideas, or lifestyle choices: Sometimes we’re ready for them, sometimes we’re not, but that doesn’t mean they’re bad, faulty, or beneath us in any way… we can still see their worth, their beauty, and hold them up in higher, unconditional regard.
And who knows? We may match up on a future path, and blend well then. Why not remain open to that possibility?
Hugh’s caption:

Like they say, to find a prince, first you have to kiss a lot of frogs.
Every young girl is told this, every young girl learns this eventually somehow. And the boys have similar bridge to cross, of course…   And as we all know, Mr or Mrs right isn’t just out there somewhere, floating around in the ether like some abstract, Platonic ideal.   You too have to ready. You don’t get the person of your dreams till you’re ready to be the person of their dreams first. The giving precedes the getting. always. It simply has to.   I like the sentiment that Love was not just a feeling, a pure emotion, but something  that requires work and preparation. Something not to be taken for granted like some biological function.
Something revered, but also respected.
It’s a good life…
